(She/Her/Hers)
I'm Maggie Bolton, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner serving adults across Washington State, both in person and virtually in Seattle.
I specialize in women's mental health, with a particular focus on ADHD, anxiety, perimenopause, cognitive changes, overwhelm, trauma, and major life transitions. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside while quietly struggling with burnout, brain fog, emotional exhaustion, or the feeling that life has become harder to manage than it used to be.
Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I spent many years working as a nurse midwife supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth, loss, and transformation. That experience deeply shaped the way I understand mental health. I believe emotional suffering cannot always be separated from hormones, stress, relationships, identity, trauma, culture, or the invisible mental load people carry.
As both a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a midwife, I bring a perspective that bridges mental health and women's health in a unique way. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and holistic. I welcome all bodies, identities, and ways of being.
When appropriate, I prescribe medications to help alleviate suffering and improve functioning. These can often work effectively. I also believe mental health care should extend beyond medication alone. Depending on your needs, our work may include supportive therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, sleep support, nervous system regulation, movement, behavioral strategies, or referrals for more in-depth therapy.
I have training in mindfulness practice as well as DBT and RO-DBT informed approaches.
Areas of focus: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, OCD, Performance Anxiety, Perimenopause & Midlife Mental Health, Perinatal Mood Disorders, Phobias, PTSD/Trauma, Self-Esteem, and Stress & Burnout. Ages 16+.
