Catherine Ramsey

ARNP, PMHNP-BC

(She/Her/Hers)

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I am committed to helping patients identify conditions and patterns that encumber them from flourishing. I do this with a combination of assessments, medicine, humor, compassion, space-holding and some supportive therapy.  I consider it one of my life’s greatest privileges to witness the bravery of people seeking better mental health.

Commitment to improving mental health is rarely a linear process of healing, but rather, a spiral that is working toward wholeness. Setbacks, challenges, incremental steps, small and sometimes big victories are all part of the experience. I strongly believe that “we’re all doing our best.” I seek to support patients, no matter where they find themselves, on their life path.

I specialize in:

  • ADHD: I provide diagnostic evaluations for adults and adolescents

  • CBTi: I have completed training in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia through the University of Pennsylvania Department of Sleep Medicine. I am taking patients for this on a case-by-case basis only.

  • Patients experiencing a combination of mental and physical health maladies: I spent fourteen years as a primary care provider and have a rich medical foundation. I’m a great provider for folks experiencing mental health repercussions of their medical illnesses.

  • I seek to provide a safe space for folks in the LGBTQ+ community

  • I additionally provide general care for common psychiatric conditions including major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar 2 disorder â€‹

I have been providing care for patients, families in my community since 2010 as a primary care nurse practitioner in both rural and urban contexts.  Early on in my primary care career, I gravitated toward supporting people in their mental health journeys and in 2022, I returned to nursing school to complete my board certification in psychiatry. I am honored to walk alongside folks as they seek to improve their mental health.  I look forward to meeting you!
