(He/Him/His)
I'm Alvaro Sarria, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing care in English and Spanish. As an immigrant and bilingual provider, I understand how culture, language, and lived experience shape mental health, and I bring particular sensitivity to the challenges faced by immigrants and their families.

My approach is patient-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in shared decision-making. I partner with my clients, using evidence-based psychiatric guidelines and client preferences to develop individualized treatment plans. I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space for all individuals no matter their gender-identity, cultural preferences or race.

I have over 14 years experience in the healthcare field including COVID, Cardiac Intensive Care, and long-term psychiatric care units. I was drawn to specialize in mental health at Gonzaga University because I witnessed first hand the substantial impact of mental health on individuals across all settings, as well as the systemic barriers and stigma that negatively impact access to care.

I acknowledge the bravery it takes to ask for help and I am looking forward to working together.
